Salary Range: Grade 5, SCP 16-18 (£26,357.00 – £27,344.00 FTE, Salary to be pro rata – £22,027.68 – £22,852.56). Salary amounts quoted are from the 1 September to 31 August and therefore if you commence employment part way through the academic year they are subject to an equated salary adjustment.

Working Type: Part Time 35 hours/ 39 weeks

Base: The Ferns Primary Academy Academy, Plodder Lane, Farnworth, Bolton, BL4 0DA

Please note:the post holder will be engaging in regulated activity, working mainly or wholly with children. This position is exempt from the rehabilitation of offender’s act 1974. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

Northern Education Trust (NET) is a charitable education Trust with a good track record for school improvement. The Trust sponsors 23 academies; 13 secondary and 10 primaries across the North of England in eleven Local Authority regions.

The Trust operates an in-house catering service and is seeking to appoint a Chef Manager to lead the catering team.

The successful candidate will have a proven record and be able to demonstrate excellent catering and customer service skills.

Main responsibilities include:

* To manage all catering operations within the academy. Preparing & cooking breakfast, break and lunch and supporting academy functions as required.

* Ensure that the quality and presentation of meals meet the standards set by the Trust.

* Ensure internal Academy and statutory regulations pertaining to the safe and hygienic operation of the kitchen are adhered to by all members of staff and visitors.

* Monitoring and controlling stock levels, ensuring correct stock rotation and storage procedures are followed.

* Manage the catering team, leading by example.

* Providing training to the team to allow safe and efficient work. Ensuring the department delivers the required level of service at all times.
