So, what will I be doing?

As Chef de Partie, you’ll be an integral member of the team at our Blagdon site, responsible for delivering a well-balanced, quality food provision for Yeo Valley employees including breakfast, lunch, snacks and cakes. You’ll have the opportunity to help shape and develop the catering offering alongside the Catering Manager. As well as being a whizz in the kitchen, you’ll focus on ensuring consistency and cost efficiencies where possible.

Key responsibilities will include:

– Preparing and delivering all catering requirements including breakfast, lunch, snacks, cakes and desserts, using fresh ingredients

– Providing corporate hospitality where required, for external visitors

– Assisting with coaching and developing the catering team to deliver excellence; leading by example

– Supporting with daily team meetings and staff scheduling, arranging agency cover as and when needed

– Contributing to menu development, delivery and developing the effectiveness of the catering operation

– Supporting the pre-order service for our night shift employees

– Procurement of ingredients using an online order service

– Supporting with cash flow and budgeting

– Cash handling and supporting front of house/back of house when required

* Ensuring all procedures and compliance logs are completed in line with site requirements

Hours: 40 hours per week, working 5 out of 7 days. No evenings! Shifts between 06:00 and 18:00.

Sounds interesting, what do I need?

The important things:

– Minimum 2 years experience of working as a chef

– As a minimum you will be qualified to Food Hygiene level 2/ Foundation in Health & Safety/Food allergen awareness-

– A background in working in onsite canteens

– Extensive knowledge of food preparation and culinary techniques

– Demonstrable knowledge of food safety and compliance within a catering or food manufacturing setting

– Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to train, develop and motivate

– Strong customer service skills
