If you are a strong and passionate people person then this is great opportunity for you. I am currently recruiting for a Catering Manager within a well represented NHS trust hospital environment. You will be responsible for managing and leading a smaller catering team in a highly energized environment. The family feel within this environment will be an attractive proposition for anybody going for this role. You will also be expected to play a key role in the development of this service stream; implementing new and more efficient processes and procedures. There will be a great opportunity to showcase any business management skills that you have picked up previously and develop further.

Day to day duties:

Health and Safety company regulations to be complied too.
Be in charge of creating and maintaining client relationships and keep a strong working relationship with patients and customers.
Budget responsibility.
Selecting Staff and monitoring rota’s.
Provide direction, and guidance to all staff within the department to ensure they carry out their roles efficiently and effectively and comply with relevant legislative, ISS and Trust operating standards to achieve the department’s service provision objectives. Be responsible for patients getting their food on time.
Responsible for 2 coffee shops within the hospital.
Identify resources required along with full budget breakdowns for each outlet
To ensure all services , hospitality , Ward issues are recharged to the correct department.
Taking responsibility of receipts for audit purposes.
To keep training records up to date.
Carrying monthly hygiene experiments.
Take receipt of deliveries.
To make sure all equipment and chemicals are used correctly in line with the companies Health and safety policies.

The Candidate:

Proven experience of managing a complex service with a diverse workforce in a service environment.
Experience within a high work volume Kitchen environment.
Preferable experience of business management.
Catering Management Qualification (OND, HND or equivalent)
Intermediate and advanced Food Hygiene Certificate
Advanced Food Hygiene.
NEBOSH managing Safely.
Up to date legal knowledge relating to the catering industry.
Proficient IT user (Excel, Outlook, Word)
To have experience of working as a chef
Financial and budgeting knowledge
Team player and effective communicator
Preferable Public sector experience
