Catering Assistant, Yeovil, from £10.42, rota basis Monday–Sunday, 37.5 hours per week. We are currently seeking a Catering Assistant to join a small team in Yeovil's local hospital. A catering assistant in a hospital will be responsible for assisting with the preparation, delivery, and service of meals to patients, staff, and visitors.
The Catering Assistant role will include:
Food Preparation: Preparing food items such as salads, sandwiches, and desserts, this may involve chopping vegetables, assembling trays, and portioning food.
Meal Service: Distributing meals to patients, ensuring they receive the correct dietary options as prescribed by medical staff. This may also involve taking orders and serving food to staff and visitors in hospital cafeterias or dining areas.
Dishwashing and Cleaning: Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, dishes, utensils, and work areas to maintain a hygienic environment.
Stock Management: Monitoring food and supply inventory, replenishing items as needed, and reporting any shortages to the supervisor.
Compliance: Adhering to food safety and hygiene standards, as well as hospital policies and regulations.
Communication: Collaborating with kitchen and café staff to ensure accurate meal orders and timely delivery.
As a Catering Assistant, your previous experience is preferred but not essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial. Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, or weekends is needed.
