The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Growth Director, this role is a pivotal position within the sales team, responsible for leading on major bids for high value customer tenders across a diverse range of customer types, predominantly within the public sector, both in the UK and internationally.

Identifying and responding to invitations to tender, other (national and international) bidding and grant award opportunities and framework registrations for key target commercial clients is a critical element of the growth engine of the business – vital to the success of its 5 Year Strategic Growth Plan.

The Ideal Candidate:

The successful candidate will be experienced in all aspects of bid management and have a track record of bid portfolio management, preferably experience of developing winning bids for public sector customers.

The successful candidate will also have an interest in expert and innovative scientific services and the delivery of associated consultancy and commercial services. They must have an understanding of the technology and themes to be able to elucidate the breadth of the organisation's services.

Able to communicate and influence at a senior level

Proven capability in planning, producing and delivering compliant bids with the ability to manage multi-workstream opportunities and large numbers of contributors in a complex business environment.

Faultless attention to detail to ensure accurate and timely submissions

Document management capability including effective version control

*

A flexible approach to accommodate the peaks and troughs of the bid lifecycle

*

Ability to work well under pressure, managing multiple demands.

*

Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative with minimum of supervision.

Strong time management/ prioritisation skills

*

Self-confident, diplomatic but firm under pressure

*

Written English and financial numeracy to a high standard; able to author, edit and challenge content
