An exciting opportunity within the Harrow Arts Centre have become available. We are now seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join us as Bar & Café Assistants on an ad hoc basis.

In return we pay a competitive rate of £10.89 per hour, other benefits include excellent training and support for career development and 21 days holiday (excluding Bank Holidays).

Overview of Bar & Café Assistant
The successful Bar & Café Assistants will have an interest in hospitality, handling alcohol and working within a customer focused environment, which is often dynamic and fast paced. All staff members will provide an exceptional customer experience throughout the Arts Centre.

Bar & Café Assistant Daily Delegations Include:
Main Duties / Accountabilities
To support the Front of House Duty Manager at events and performances thereby ensuring highest standards of public safety and customer satisfaction for patrons
Support any access needs relating to people attending events
Carry out ticket collection/scanning at points of entry
Carry out the sale of alcoholic drinks, snacks and merchandise within the performance venue and Backstage Bar
Accurately enter all sales on the till system
Report to the Front of House Duty Manager & Bar and Café Supervisor to ensure all aspects of health and safety within the performance space and Backstage Bar are adhered to
Assist with clearing up of the venue, after customers have left the premises
Assist the Front of House Duty Manager in the safe evacuation of the performance venue (members of the public and staff) in cases of an emergency during an event or show
Prepare and serve hot, cold and alcoholic drinks and pre-prepared café food items
Maintain good knowledge of the bar and café menu in order to assist customers and increase sales
Work in accordance with all Health & Safety and Food Hygiene legislation and keep all areas of the kitchen, store room, and café clean and free from hazards
Assist the technical team with layout changes when required
Attend training sessions as arranged by the Customer Service Officer and Bar and Café Supervisor
To undertake such other duties when required to ensure flexibility as may be reasonably required in the post.About Us
