As a leading Technical Recruitment Consultancy Zebrec are delighted to offer this role as AV INSTALLATION ENGINEER working for our client who is a reputable & leading provider of professional services to their industry of Audio Visual Systems Integration.
Role & Responsibilities of the AV INSTALLATION ENGINEER:
Our client now find themselves requiring an installation engineer to undertake installations, site surveys, service calls, planned maintenance visits and commissioning.
You will report into the Installations Manager, although your daily bookings will be managed by the service co-ordinator and operations team.
You will be responsible for installations, site surveys and maintaining the audio-visual equipment on customers’ premises, primarily in central London and surrounding areas.
This will include the following;
• Audio systems, amplifiers and DSPs
• Video conferencing systems, Polycom, StarLeaf and similar.
• Video walls to include processors such as Datapath.
• Control systems such as SY and Creston.
• Responsible for the safe and correct diagnosis of faults.
• Carry out first fix & second fix.
A high level of competency required with commissioning systems is essential, i.e dressing cables, programming changes, calibration, client relations, understanding of how audio and video systems work
Qualifications and Attributes:
• Proven installation experience in the audio-visual industry.
• Audio visual related qualification such as Infocomm CTS or similar is advantageous.
• Ability to lead a team of engineers to complete and install for first fix installation for commissioning and testing.
• Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
• The ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to solder and terminate all recognised AV and data connections.
• Ability to methodically fault find.
• Comfortable with firmware upgrades and changes.
• Good IT and networking skills.
• Proven experience in commissioning mentioned AV equipment and using the software required to do so.
• Hold the right tools to be able to complete the job and terminate all cables, additionally, must have a good understanding of terminating standards and restrictions.
• Experienced in travelling and navigating central London.
• Working longer hours will be required to resolve issues and accommodate work load.
• Able to demonstrate experience in AV systems with proof of recent installs, therefore references will also be required.
