Jonathan Lee Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and collaborative Automation Engineer to join a system build and integration company’s welcoming team in Telford. This full-time Automation Engineer role offers an attractive salary and benefits.
The machines the team design and manufacture are automation systems used by a wide range of customers in aerospace, automotive, FMCG and general engineering companies. All the equipment is bespoke so there is a lot of electrical design and controls engineering required. You will have a can-do attitude and work closely with the shop floor to ensure a successful project.
To give you an idea of how this Automation Engineer role will look and feel, here are some areas you can expect to work in:
Take responsibility and ownership for ensuring all electrical drawings and controls software are documented and revisions are controlled
Work with the designer and controls engineers to ensure all controls are fully listed on the models for ease of build
Ensure all orders move from the concept to a safe and fully developed working machine
Be responsible for all electrical design work to ensure the panels are built to the latest standards
Ensure all designs are documented correctly and updated revisions are kept
The ideal Automation Engineer will have previous experience in one-off machine builds in controls engineering and experience with robot integration, servo-driven controls, PLC programming, HMIs and Electrical Design. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
