Day shfit, 40h a week with Saturdays during peak time
Pay: £13.50ph – £15.50ph depending on experience
We are looking for a GROWING ASSISTANT to work under growing manager, who has previous experience in plant production at a commercial scale (whether large scale or small plant nurseries like ourselves).
The role would be looking after the production and care of bedding plants from plug plants to the finished plant. This would also include the watering across nursery and retail areas. Majority is hands on watering which involves good growing practice.
They must be hands on, reliable and have initiative and be a good team player – the growing team is a small team of 5.
It would be a full time role however during peak times they must be able to work as part of a weekend working rota.
Our client is a small independent family run plant nursery that has been operating for over 45 years. They grow all of their own bedding, make all their own hand made hanging baskets, potted arrangements, grow Pointsettias, vegetables, but they also grow own Christmas trees which they harvest and sell in December – they are set over a pretty big site that has expanded & keeps on expanding – this year they have just opened a coffee shop!
MUST HAVE OWN TRANSPORT due to the location
Each day we are responsible for placing several hundred dedicated operatives out to work throughout Worcestershire.
We operate from several conveniently located registration centres, therefore are likely to have an office close to you. We cover the following job categories:
Order picking, Warehouse, Stores, Despatch, Packing, Assembly, Machine operating and FLT Driving.
