Our busy catering operation is looking for an Assistant Catering Manager to join the team. We are looking for a target driven catering professional who can provide the highest standards of customer care and team management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the café operation, in line with set RSPB procedures and routines.

This role is a Full Time Role of 37.5 hours working 5 days out of 7. You will need to be available to work during the day (occasional evenings), and weekend and Bank Holiday working will be essential.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

Assisting the Catering Manager in the following areas:

* Ensuring the café is delivering the highest standard of customer care.

* Achieve financial targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to deliver against catering goals.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Ensuring all catering administration, operating processes, security, food hygiene and health and safety adhere to RSPB procedures.

* Ability to manage and respond to customer needs and feedback.

* Ensuring that all catering staff and volunteers are recruited trained and managed in accordance with RSPB guidelines and policy that results efficient team working.

* To be responsible for the planning and efficient day to day running of the café.

* To deputise for the Catering Manager during their absence.

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

* A natural leader who can influence, motivate and inspire people at all levels.

* Ability to manage and respond to customer needs and feedback.

* Successful experience of leading and managing a diverse team.

* Proven track record of managing a successful catering operation.

* Experience of working in a commercial kitchen.
