Our client, a reputable local farm, is dedicated to upholding the highest standards in chicken welfare. With a commitment to ensuring the well-being of their livestock, they are currently seeking an Assistant Farm Manager to join their team.

Position Overview:

As the recruiting agency for our client, we are looking for a dynamic individual to take on the role of Assistant Farm Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the care of chickens, ensuring optimal conditions for their growth, and contributing to the overall success of the farm.

Key Responsibilities:

Chicken Care: Ensure the health and happiness of chickens, adhering to the farm's commitment to ethical practices.
Culling: Undertake culling activities when required for welfare purposes, with training provided by a vet leading to a culling certificate. This is a small part of the role and there are some days you won’t need to do this.
Daily Operations: Oversee day-to-day operations, including the maintenance of heat tanks, checking, and adjusting feed tanks, and ensuring all equipment is in proper working order.
Farm Maintenance: Conduct general maintenance tasks and hands-on duties to uphold the farm's facilities.
Driving Responsibilities: Operate compact tractors and machinery to carry out various farm tasks.

Qualifications and Skills:

Farming background preferred but not essential.
Willingness to learn and undergo training in culling practices.
Ability to perform hands-on tasks and general maintenance.
Experience in operating compact tractors and machinery.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to animal welfare.
