An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Assistant Farm Manager/Technician to join a rapidly expanding poultry farm in Shropshire. This is a full-time position offering a salary up to £40,000 per year with enhanced benefits including an attractive profit share bonus scheme, three-bedroom accommodation, company vehicle and phone, and much more!
As the Assistant Farm Manager/Technician your tasks and responsibilities will include:
Overseeing and managing the welfare of 230,000 birds across 4 sheds.
Managing and monitoring ventilation, heating, feed, water, litter, lighting and cleanliness on the farm, ensuring the highest quality conditions are provided.
Keeping accurate records of service and maintenance activities.
Providing daily reports to the Poultry Technical Manager.
Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Daily night checks and on-call duties as required.
Coordinating with all departments involved in the poultry cycle (including Management, integrators, feed mills, chick suppliers).
Providing holiday and absence cover for the Poultry Technical Manager on the farm and on the consultancy side of the business.
The Assistant Farm Manager/Technician will have the following skills and experience:
Effective communication and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
NVQ Level 2 qualification in Agriculture is desirable but not essential.
Previous experience working in a similar role or with livestock would be a distinct advantage.
Hold a valid UK driver's license.
You will be expected to work on the farm in Shropshire and have a flexible approach to work and be available as per the needs of the business.
