About Our Client
This is a varied role to support the Farm Manager of a large and progressive top fruit farm in Kent. The Assistant Farm Manager will help to manage and add value to the main processes involved in Top Fruit production. Specific duties will be to assist the farm manager in the day-to-day running of the farm, help to manage the fruit harvest, and organise the spraying of crops as required.
About the Job
This role requires an individual with good people skills, someone who can get very much involved in the people side of the Fruit farm amd help to co-ordinate the large staff team. You will help with planning of daily production tasks and co-ordinate labour allocation and ensure that tasks are completed to a high standard. You will also plan harvest activities with the Farm Manager, organise operations, logistics and help to maintain fruit quality.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate would be someone with a Horticultural or Agricultural qualification or someone who has experience working within Horticulture or wider agriculture. People management and experience in coordinating harvest teams would be ideal and someone with a keen eye for detail and able to work to high stands to ensure fruit quality.
