Assistant Despatch Coordinator
We are recruiting for a long-established family run horticultural business just outside of Kings Lynn, who propagate a wide range of soft fruit plants. They are also commercial fruit growers, supplying strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries to the major UK Multiples. Due to their continued growth and development, they are seeking to employ an Assistant Despatch Coordinator.
Temp to perm contract for the ideal candidate,
£11.30 per hour
7:30am – 4pm with overtime available during the week and on weekends
This is a two-part, full-time position:
During their plant propagation season (October to April) – assist their Despatch Manager with collating and preparing plant orders for despatch.
During their fruiting season – assist fruit packhouse management team in performing day-to-day operations.
Plant propagation Seasonal Role:
Prepare and pack soft fruit plants.
Load and un-load curtain sided and articulated vehicles with a counterbalance forklift.
Receive and check all goods inwards.
Prepare, pack and despatch goods outwards.
Move goods between sites.
Maintain accurate records.
Keep warehouses clean and tidy.
Fruiting Seasonal Role:
Maintain accurate and up to date quality records as required by the QMS to comply with BRCGS.
Create and verify daily label and logistical paperwork.
Carry out hygiene checks according to timescales.
Support the operation of packing machinery and equipment (heat sealing + labelling machines)
Assist with loading and unloading and with delivery and despatch documents.
Candidate Requirements:
A flexible approach to working hours and days. The role will require working on weekends and bank holidays with some unsocial hours.
The propagation position will mainly be outdoor work.
Strong attention to detail with a motivated, proactive thinking mindset.
Willing to undertake training courses as necessary.
Full driving licence is essential due to the rural location.
Counterbalance forklift licence would be desirable
