Graphic Designer – Leeds – 12-month FTC (Maternity Cover)

J. Murphy & Sons LTD which is currently ranked as a “top 5 best big employer in the UK” is looking for a creative, enthusiastic, and proactive graphic designer to join the Communications team for a 12 month fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity.

In-house graphic design role for a leading global construction company.  Part of a dynamic and busy group Communications team, the role’s main responsibilities are designing and managing creative print and digital material for internal communications, marketing collateral, and business development activities. 

The candidate needs to be a self-starter, highly organised and able to deliver projects autonomously and as a part of the Communications team. The role suits someone who can manage complex design projects, provide regular stakeholder updates, and meet deadlines. Knowledge of adhering to a company’s brand guidelines is essential, and other digital skills such as video recording and online editing are highly desirable.  

Location is flexible, but ideally within commuting distance of one of Murphy’s main office locations. 

What you’ll be doing
* Designing and producing creative print and digital collateral for internal and external marketing and communications, with a view to  attracting new  business, reinforcing key business messages and enhancing Murphy’s profile
* Contribute and mould brand and visual identity
* Consistency and continuity of branding material, you will develop attractive and functional marketing materials for a variety of mediums and channels
* You will also get to delve into digital design: creating and coding of web, email and HTML marketing material
* Coordinate, shoot and edit video of our UK-wide projects and people, working with experts for drone and time-lapse footage and filming, and other creative visual storytelling. 
* Develop both online and offline marketing material
* Collaborate with and manage external suppliers as required
* Advise on and manage the visual brand guidelines and standards
* Be responsible for end-to-end graphic design treatment of key Murphy marketing collateral and documents from a visual perspective, such as the company’s annual results report and similar brochure-ware.

Who we are looking for
* Experience with Photoshop and In-Design
* Relevant software experience with Publisher, Illustrator, Video editing (AfterEffects)
* Fully proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
* Experience in Web Design, Flash, HTML would be preferrable
* Dynamic and passionate individual who is confident to work to tight deadlines and independently
* Confident to prioritise
* Collaborating with peers and taking directives from stakeholders
* Some flexibility to travel to construction sites when raw marketing material must be obtained
