Our client is a market leader in the hotel furniture industry, working with clients such as Hilton, De Vere, Holiday Inn & Crowne Plaza. With a 45,000 sq ft factory just 10 minutes from Leeds City Centre, they make high specification, bespoke hotel furniture. Their ethos is to provide a fun, informal, but highly professional working environment.
Job Purpose
The role will be twofold:
* Work with our client’s customers and project managers to interpret their briefs and produce accurate manufacturing drawings.
* Coordinate the ideas of our designers, sales team and project managers and along with your own ideas and research.
* Also part of the work will be to develop new ranges of contract furniture for the hotel market.
Ideally you will possess strong Solidworks design skills and communication skills, enabling you to translate any brief you are given into a commercially viable product that meets the client’s expectations. It would be preferred if you have experience of working within the furniture industry. You will have a good eye for detail and be able to communicate at all levels. You will need to possess competent Solidworks CAD skills and be able to work well under your own initiative as well as being a keen team player.
Essential skills required:
* 2+ years Solidworks CAD design experience
* Furniture design experience
* Experience working to briefs with tight deadlines
* Communication skills at all levels
* Proactive and creative thinker
* Ability to follow design procedures
Desirable skills required:
* Contract furniture experience
* New product development
* Sales presentation design development
* Furniture design qualifications
