GSL Education’s North Yorkshire branch is working in partnership with a Secondary School in York to appoint a Design Technology Technician. This is a full-time position due to start as soon as possible and will likely continue through to the end of the academic year. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Technician looking for a change in pace, or new challenge, a University Graduate looking for practical experience, or a teacher looking for less responsibility within the classroom.As the successful Design Technology Technician, you will:

Work under the direction and supervision of the teachers to support learning by providing technical and practical assistance.
Be a flexible, dynamic, and knowledgeable technician to support learning within all areas of the Design Technology department.
Assist in the maintenance of technology classrooms and areas, including collecting and tidying away used equipment.Prospective candidates should:

Be available to start as soon as possible, on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday during term time.
Have experience supporting in a Design Technology department (voluntary experience or University placements are relevant) or within a practical work environment.
Hold GCSEs in English, Maths and Science.
Hold a Child Only DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education. DBS sponsorship is available for this position.
