Conservation Architect
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £30000 – £45000/annum
An AJ 100 Practice is currently recruiting for an experienced conversation Architect.
Busy Cardiff Centre based Studio is looking for a Conservation Architect due to retirement.
The businesses conservation projects are scattered around Wales and in the Midlands so an ability and willingness to be flexible with travel and drive would be necessary.
Experience in writing heritage impact assessments and conservation management plans would be an advantage.
A specialist conservation architecture qualification (eg. RIBA CA or SCA, or the AABC conservation register) is required for some projects, but for the right person the company would be willing to assist in achieving this qualification. Working with public bodies, charities, trusts, private companies, contractors, developers and individuals, this practice has been involved in the care and development of some of the best loved buildings and places in the UK and abroad. Some key projects include Churches, Castles, Cathedrals, Listed Buildings and Heritage sites.
Role & Responsibilities
Working on a large-scale heritage projects under the current project lead
Take responsibility for own project deliverables, planning, monitoring and delivering
Production of building regulations, working drawing and tender packages as required
Carry out site inspections and contract administration
Responsibility of discharging LBC conditions relating to assigned works packages
Attending external project meetings.
Required Skills & Experience
Several years post qualification experience
AABC or other conservation Accreditation (ideally)
Experience in Job running
Proficient in the use of AutoCAD
Experience in the use of NBS
Revit experience is desirable but not essential.
