Design Engineer (Aviation) – Contract – Gloucester
We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join our clients team in Gloucester. You will have strong experience updating drawings relating to Aircraft motor controllers.
You will be responsible for the mechanical design, updating drawings related to motor controllers. Mechanical drawings with manufacturing notes (parts such as casing and lids board manufacture). Operate the PLM system and raise the change requests and update parts lists. This role is very much autonomous requiring very little support.
You will be working within the Actuation Engineering team where you will have a focus on technical assignments that use your analysis skills to support the development of motor controllers and actuator products.
We are keen to hear from creative and collaborative team players with Aviation /Aerospace experience.
This role is working 37 hours per week.
Key Expertise:
*Able to work autonomously and can demonstrate technical capability and ability to provide advice and technical direction.
*Senior Engineer – at this level you will be capable of leading technical investigations or engineering programmes, acting as the focal in support of design and analysis activities.
*Proficient IT and MS Office applications.
*Knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical equipment and underlying theory.
*Analytical problem-solving skills.
*Strong experience with Solidworks for 2D and 3D drawings
*Proven experience of designing actuators and motor controllers.
*Experience of designing machined components
*Awareness of electronics and associated specs
*Understanding of Wiring schematics for the ATP test equipment (Program – Zuken CadStar).
*Ability to update Acceptance Test Procedures for electronics products.
