Technical Designer – CAD and Projects

Salary : £34000 – £37000/annum
Teknion, a major International office furniture manufacturer is hiring an experienced Technical Designer to join their team based in the company’s central London showroom.
The role is varied but centres upon translating the sales team’s business leads into inspiring workplace solutions. This involves detailed product specification.
The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple projects with speed and exceptional accuracy.
Specific Duties Include:
* Create accurate bills of materials for quotation and order using specification software.
* Create 2D plans from surveys/client’s layouts, 3D product renders, mood boards and presentation to support quotations.
* Provide product application & setting solutions, including the creation of special products, working with the Teknion product engineers and communicating with manufacturers.
* Assist Teknion sales team plus external Teknion dealer partners, with project tender responses; interpreting product requirements and offering expertise for electrical requirements and cable management.
* Provide technical support to the different departments to ensure projects are successfully realised.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
* Degree in design, Architectural Technology or equivalent work experience.
* AutoCAD skills are essential, including 3D modelling.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills required.
* Superior attention to detail, numeracy, organisational and time management skills.
* A knowledge of the office or contract furniture market is preferred.
* Technical product specification and quoting experience would be desirable.
* Knowledge of Sketch Up or KeyShot software is preferred.
Salary to £34K to £37K (depending on experience) plus other benefits – pension, healthcare etc
