The V&A is gearing up for change. We are developing two new sites in East London and redeveloping the Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green. Together, these projects represent a transformation: our public offer will be richer, our reach wider and our perspective changed to embrace multi-site working across public-facing planning, programming and delivery.
The V&A East team play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering this transformation through the successful creation of the two new physical sites which together form V&A East. We are developing new approaches for new audiences, an engaging programme and an efficient, effective and innovative operational model for a new type of museum experience. The Head of V&A East Operations Programme will play a critical role in enabling change by leading on operationaland commercial aspects of the V&A East.
The Head of V&A East Operations Programme is responsible for working with colleagues across the V&A, to support the Director of V&A East in the delivery of financially sustainable, operationally effective and innovative new museum experiences at V&A East.
Working collaboratively, in particular with the wider V&A East team and the V&A’s capital project team,the Head of V&A East Operations Programme will take an entrepreneurial approach to the development of operational and commercial activities, with a view to strengthening financial and operational resilience within the context of the vision for V&A East, and to influence the way that the V&A more broadly evolves through the V&A Redesign process
