We are looking for an experienced Graphic Artist to join the team on a permanent basis to support the Global Supply team for one of the luxury brands that sit within the organisation.
The role of the Graphic Artist will be responsible for creating graphics based on customer artwork and producing CAD Visuals, Waterslides and positives for Fired Prints.
The Graphic Artist is part of the Creative Services function of the business and reports directly to the Studio Manager.

The role of the Graphics Artist essentially will be to:

Drawing, creating graphics, preparation of customer artwork, produces CAD visuals, waterslides and positives for fired prints.
A Ceramic colour separation artist who separates artwork into colour layers ready for ceramic printing. This requires knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator on an Apple Mac.
The job will focus on preparing seps and production files for printing, in order to ensure that all images, colour, text and layout are accurate and error free.
Communicate print expectations to the screen print department, prioritizing workload according to current business needs and deadlines.
Collaborate with the design and sales teams to ensure that the final product properly matches the design intent.  
Specific steps to the role

Receive artwork as JPEG, EPS Files etc (drawing up, modifying, sizing, colour specifications and fitting up badges, sprays, drop on etc,)
Once artwork has been completed, send to the RIP which is then outputted/lasered through the image setter (Film Exposed).
Exposed film is then put through the Film Processor which develops, fixes and cleans/dry’s the film/positive images etc.
Check overall outputted positives, if production check against a previous layout to ensure there are no artwork mistakes, finally have another studio artist to check and sign.  
* CAD Visuals, Waterslides and Print Positives are produced at different stages along the process route.
The role will be based at the Staffordshire HQ but some travel to other sites will be required on an ad-hoc basis to fulfil business meetings, training, and other visits.
The core duties of the role:

2 years’ commercial or retail (luxury goods) experience level operating within the UK and Europe with a strong affinity to the hospitality market Show a balance between formal and informal styles of communication.
Look for alternative ways to present information.
Construct concise and accurate reports.
Have the ability to explain things in a manner that ensures everyone knows what is expected of them.
Excellent at communicating required standards.
Must be extremely structured in the handling of information.
Have the ability to change style to suit the circumstances of people.
Excellent at creating the right atmosphere. In order to be considered for this role you must:
GCSE (or equivalent) Maths, English and ICT – Grades 4 – 9
    
Design related qualification or experience in the industry proficient in the operation of an Apple Mac

In addition – Have experience within:
Excellent PC skills, including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
    
Working knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, In-design, Image setter, Film Processing and Outputting.
    
Attention to detail and good organisational skills
