Graphic Designer
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £25000 – £30000/annum
Our client, a leading food manufacturer based near Stockport, are looking to recruit a Graphic Designer to join their marketing team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain a breadth of experience working on a wide range of consumer food brands and the role will be varied including packaging design, web banner design, photography, e-mailers, newsletters, posters, press advertising and point of sale design.
The Graphic designer should have existing packaging experience and be able to work independently.
The role
Packaging design- including seasonal lines.
Liaising with printers to optimize printed result and ensure files meet requirements.
Supporting external agencies (packaging and web design)
Designing trade press advertisements
Internal communications- posters and newsletter
Leaflets and exhibition materials
Product photography and image editing for image library and e-commerce site
Website graphics- working with external web builders.
Printing artwork for mock ups
Presentation template design
Key Technical skills:
Packaging design & familiarity with print processes
Photography
Photo editing
Setting artwork up ready for print.
Working with style guides
Newsletter design
Additional Skills (beneficial):
Some knowledge of website design
Facebook app design
Illustration
Working on technical line drawings
Liaising with retailers regarding artwork and style guides.
Other skills
Creative
Ability to build strong working relationships with other departments and external agencies and printers.
Ability to work independently as will be the only design resource internally.
Liaise with printers for technical requirements and adhere to their specs.
Support Marketing Manager and Brand Manager
Ability to manage workload and hit deadlines
Ability to work under pressure
Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of work.
In return for meeting the above criteria the successful candidate will be rewarded with an excellent package that includes a competitive basic salary of £25,000 – £30,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience).
