Howdens Joinery are looking for a permanent Artworker to work as part of our Design team based at our site in Raunds, Northamptonshire..

Reporting to the Design Manager, you will be working on multiple projects and be responsible for producing and delivering artwork and presentation materials, in response to the ever-changing needs of our business.  You will also need to be able to confidently assist in the retouching of images for literature, produce graphic and display updates for the office support with the production of graphics and presentations for meetings.  This will include printing either in house or through third party suppliers and managing file handling.

As an Artworker, you will produce a diverse range of printed media from brochures to leaflets, POS, local marketing, and exhibitions whilst working closely with the marketing and products teams. You will also need to have the ability to produce creative layouts through to print ready artwork and manage job tracking, recording and file management. 

What you will be doing?

– To produce flyers and leaflets in line with briefs issued from the publications team, sit on project teams to contribute to the process and ensure deadlines are met
– To produce templates in the PIM system to ensure brochures can be printed and delivered to depots on time
– Create and propose creative collateral executions in response to event theme briefs e.g., menu’s, posters, place names, room decor etc
– Produce materials from ad hoc artwork requests from the wider business, ensuring sign off from the Marketing Stakeholders – Publishing prior to communication
– Manage job tracking and recording, responsible for communicating up to the Design Manager on the status of day-to-day projects
– Produce supporting graphics at external events that are relevant to the purpose of the event
– Produce accurate graphics to support product and marketing meetings including printing either in house or through third party supplier
– Support the Design Manager with other projects as and when they arise

What we need from you:

– Previous experience in an Artworker role ideally for a large, commercial organisation or design agency.
– Experience in artworking print ready design, specifically, brochures, POS and other printed media.
– Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
– Experience of producing large scale brochures.
– Ability to prioritise daily workload, manage multiple projects from start to finish, projects large and small sometimes to tight deadlines.
– Excellent organisational skills with a flexible attitude
– Able to communicate with varying stakeholders and present concepts and ideas.
– Great people skills and able to work collaboratively within a team.
– Exceptional attention to detail and good layout skills.
– Able to work on own initiative, while also being a team player.
– Advanced Microsoft office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
– Ability to retouch images.
– Knowledge of the print process.
– Experience of using Step is desirable but not essential
