Our client, one of the leading technology companies across the globe are currently seeking a Public Policy Manager to join their team. The role will be based 5 days on site in Dublin (Ballsbridge), on an initial 11 month contract.

Description:

Summary:

Our client is looking for an individual to join its Content Policy Team. The team’s mission is to create and communicate rules for how our products may be used by people on Facebook and its family of applications. Specifically, this individual will be responsible for policies that focus on consumer safety, including regulatory compliance, restricted goods and fraud.

As a member of the Content Policy team, you will work closely with a number of other teams at Facebook and Instagram, including our Community Operations, Product, Legal, Communications, and Public Policy teams. You will be responsible for helping our team craft and implement content standards that best serve the company and the people who use our services globally. It is critical that you are able to analyze and communicate the costs and benefits of refinements to content policies at our client and their implementation, and be comfortable making difficult decisions under pressure.

Job Responsibilities

– Help craft and implement content policies that take into consideration the needs of a global community for both paid and organic content

– Understand regulatory issues and manage regulatory risk in policy development

– Proactively identify gaps or conflicts in existing policies and develop scalable solutions

– Build relationships with and understand the perspectives of partners on internal teams, such as Public Policy, Communications, Operations, Product, and Legal

– Help articulate policy philosophy, launches, and changes to relevant parties, including management, operations, and other internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

Experience in online safety and/or content policy

Experience in content regulation

Experience in freedom of expression and human rights

Experience working on a global team

Experience with fast moving content escalations

Excellent written and oral skills

Experience in analytical-thinking and problem-solving

Experience communicating cross-functionally, particularly in the area of consensus-building
