Salary : £40000 – £50000/annum

My client is based in the south of the UK and are part of a larger corporation. They are a leading, global manufacturer of engineering products within various industries including marine, commercial vehicle and building products. With over 50 years industry experience and turnover of £60 million they are continuing to grow and develop; they are now looking for a Senior Hydraulic Systems Engineer to join their team in assisting with the design and development of hydraulic systems. This is a fantastic and exciting opportunity to be involved with some amazing projects.

Position: Senior Hydraulic Systems Engineer

Location:  Portsmouth

Package: £40,000 – £50,000 (DOE), 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, healthcare cover, life insurance, company pension.

Working Hours: 8am – 4.15pm (Mon -Thurs) & 8am – 3pm (Fri)

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Travelling to sites when required, this could be outside the UK.
Supporting the sales team with quotes and specifications.
Design and develop hydraulic circuit diagrams using AutoCAD and Creo.
Design and develop custom built hydraulic systems.
Design hydraulic pump drives for engine and Genset driven pumps, AC and DC motor prime movers.
Design hydraulic manifolds and cooling systems.
Support the technical department with enquiries.
Create manuals for hydraulic systems.
Assist with the training of staff.
Trouble shoot hydraulic systems both in house and on client’s equipment.
Assist with the testing and hydraulic set up of systems.
Integrating and interfacing with electrical circuits.
To apply you MUST have or hold:

An excellent understanding of AutoCAD.
Knowledge of 3D CAD is advantageous.
Educated to Degree / HNC level within mechanical engineering.
Strong knowledge/understanding of hydraulics including hydraulic design, industrial hydraulics, valves and pumps.
The ability to troubleshoot systems.
Knowledge of carrying out specific tests on newly design systems.
Flexible towards travelling to sites within the UK and overseas.
