We have an opportunity to join our Visual Arts Team as a Fashion Tutor on a permanent, full time (37 hours per week) basis. The Department has moved into its new home, City Campus Manchester in September 2022. It is an exciting time for the area, for students, for the team and for the city! If successful, you would be involved with the development of a dynamic Art Curriculum for 16-18 students and adults.

We are particularly interested in applications from teachers with expertise in garment and pattern technology skills to complement our existing teaching and technician team.

As a Fashion Tutor you will provide supervision of your curriculum area, ensuring that you meet budget, quality, and operational targets. You will deliver high quality, learner-focused education providing a secure and friendly environment in order for your students to succeed. In your role you will plan, lead, and develop the curriculum area within the establishment to ensure compliance with the national curriculum framework, the integration of functional skills, best practice, and quality targets.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Technical knowledge of Industry standard Pattern and Construction techniques and processes.
A teaching / assessing (as appropriate) qualification and subject-specialist qualification at Level 4 (Level 5 – new standards) with a commitment to obtain the relevant outstanding Level 4 (Level 5 – new standards) qualification within a specified time scale
English and Maths – must be qualified to a minimum of Level 2
