Every sculpture, sundial or water feature is crafted by hand on site in rural Oxfordshire. As a family-owned business, we are a small but established team, where every individual plays their part offering the very best service to its highly affluent audience of private customers, interior and garden designers, art consultants and property developers.
Your Remit:
As Design Director, you will become responsible for all aspects of the design process, from research and ideation to creative conceptualisation and innovation.
You will possess a strong mastery of design fundamentals and translate our creative direction into beautiful, thoughtful, and commercial products
Your key role externally, will be to represent the brand with flair, imagination, and charisma. You will therefore be an excellent orator and storyteller, acting as the figurehead within the luxury design sector in the UK and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Developing new design concepts into elegant creative solutions, ensuring product vitality in line with brand values and design ethos
+ Acting as the spokesperson for the brand and representing it with charisma and design integrity
+ Developing bespoke design concepts and proposals to meet client briefs
+ Presenting design ideas/concepts in loose sketch format
+ Taking responsibility for the creative vision and the standard of output across your team
+ Exploring appropriate materials, construction, colour, and surface finishes
+ Pitching ideas confidently and presenting the creative vision clearly to clients
+ Using your leadership skills to develop and inspire the creative team
+ Leading multiple projects from conception to proposal in accordance with deadlines
+ Collaborating with stakeholders to research and develop cohesive design plans, concepts and improving existing product designs
+ Asking smart questions, taking risks, and championing new ideas
About You:
+ A degree in a visual or product design discipline or equivalent experience
+ Five or more years of experience as a senior-level designer
+ Ability to work with clients to understand detailed requirements and ensure a positive creative outcome
+ Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate the creative vision, concepts, ideas, and solutions clearly and effectively to stakeholders, internal teams, and clients
+ Ability to work effectively in a team setting
+ Extensive supervisory experience (including leadership, team building, and delegation) leading and managing a creative team
+ A solid grasp of design, historical, classical, and contemporary, including awareness of current trends within interiors, exteriors (landscapes) environments, both commercial and private settings
+ Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism
