Creative Technical Designer

There are 2 people in the design studio. You would be the link between the customer and the design department. The objective is to design or redesign the carton NOT the artwork as their clients have their own in-house services or relationship with a design agency. The roles requires a candidate with technical skills/interest, packaging knowledge would of course be amazing but it's not essential because if you have software knowledge (Artios CAD, Photo Shop, Illustrator) you should be able to pick this up.
You will have your own client database enabling you to build those relationships and anticipate your clients' needs.

Your responsibilities will include: –
Design and development.
Packaging technology.
Packaging systems.
Explore sustainable packaging technologies.
Product photography.
Mock sampling.
Presentations, digitally & physically.
Production trials.
Individual project management.
Customer service for assigned customers.
Problem solving.
An interest in packaging trends and solutions.
Copyright & patent knowledge and experience.
2D and 3D computer aided design.
Packaging cost awareness.
Facilitate weekly technical meeting.
Administrative duties / general housekeeping for assigned customers.
Candidate Requirements: –
Experience in Packaging Design – Qualifications in Product Design would be desirable.
Strong understanding of the design process in carton manufacturing or similar role.
Good eye for detail.
Advanced in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
Confidence to create and deliver presentations.
Excellent organisational skills and ability to multitask.
Strong interpersonal, motivational and communication skills.
Good understanding of quality standards.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, meet deadlines and handle a wide variety of responsibilities.

Benefits Package: –
Salary Bracket £30,000 – £35,000. Subject to experience.
26 days holiday, plus Bank Holidays – 5 days used during Christmas for full factory shutdown.
