HPC – Installation Design Engineer – CAD

Salary :

This is a key role in our Installation Design Team and would suit someone with experience of AutoCAD as this is the main CAD tool we use.

You will be producing drawings for the installation documents for a major Nuclear project so you will need to be eligible for BPSS clearance at least.

A hybrid role with the majority of time spent working from home and the occasional need to come to the office in Warwick.

Installation Design Engineer – CAD

Location: Hybrid Working Location

What you'll do:

Drive a culture based on nuclear safety and quality throughout the project, acting as a role model for the internal team and external interfaces.
Produce detailed high quality 2D and 3D drawings using CAD and Sketchup software which can be added to a BIM platform as defined by the customer.
Ensure that Installation Designs conform to the customer's H&S and quality requirements and meet the technical criteria set out by the Technical Design teams.
Find efficiencies in the production of documentation while maintaining quality and clarity.
Produce "Cradle to Grave" installation designs considering equipment protection, warehouse storage, dormancy post installation, maintenance, and de-installation.
Understand and use Safety by Design principles throughout Installation Designs.
Produce Installation Designs for Core network equipment, transmission equipment, Radio (RF), Digital TV, Public Address and Voice Alert systems, Wi-Fi network, Terminal Equipment (desk telephones, wireless APs, CCTV cameras, sound, and light Beacons)
Produce Bills of Materials (BoMs) based on Installation Designs.
Make site visits and survey installation sites to assist with producing accurate designs.
Prepare and maintain detailed design drawings/schematics using Computer Aided Design software
Prepare and maintain detailed design drawings/schematics using Sketchup Modelling software
Work closely with Technical Design Engineers to resolve design details or discrepancies
Prepare drawings of unusual, complex or original designs with a high degree of precision using CAD software
Create, modify and control detailed 2D and 3D parts and assembly drawings using Technical Design Plans on written or verbal instructions
Develop and maintain draft standards and procedures
Evaluate and recommend suitable computer hardware and softwareKey requirements:

Demonstrable success in producing detailed Installation Designs
Experience of producing 2D and 3D models using CAD software
Experience of producing Sketchup models for use in Acoustic Modelling.
Broad telecommunications industry knowledge
An understanding of the below:
PAVA systems
Cabling infrastructures within data centres.
Installation of terminal devices (WiFi APs for example)
Planning the installation of Routers and Switches.
Cable management and cable infrastructure (cable containment)
The use of Excel, Word, and Visio.
A basic understanding of network design
Degree or HND/HNC in and engineering related subject
