Hours: 7/8am to 3/4pm
Our client is a well-established and packaging and print company based in the South East. They offer their clients a wide range of products including boxes, folding cartons, small and large format printing.
They are currently looking for a Structural Designer to join their team.
The chosen candidate will be experienced in using CAD software and machinery such AG/CAD and a DYSS x5. The role is mainly focused on understanding carton/box construction using folding box boards rather than rigid boxes.
Role / Responsibilities:
Packaging Designer (aka, Cardboard Engineer) with experience using AG/CAD software and machinery
Creating technical dimensional drawings and presenting new designs
Experience in creating structural design of corrugated and carton board packaging
Ability to interpret briefs, make recommendations and produce innovative solutions
Taking initial concepts through to production
Previous experience in the Packaging / Print industry is essential
Creative flair and a strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Good communication skills at all levels
Knowledge of what doe and doesn't work when considering the final use and make up/fulfilment of the box with its product is very important
