Pertemps Recruitment Southampton are proud to be working with a leading creative design & print company based in Eastleigh who are looking for a Junior Designer/Studio Technician to join them on a permanent basis. Since the formation of the company, it has grown rapidly in the last few years which is why they are recruiting now, this is a very exciting time to be joining.
As a Junior Designer/Studio Technician you will be reporting into the Creative Director, working within a 4-person team alongside a Product Designer and Paper Engineer. The purpose of this role is to work with the team to facilitate the creation of paper and board products to assist with the growth and development of the business. This role would suit a creative design, graphics or product design graduate with some experience in the industry who is looking to take the next step in their career working for a fantastic and progressive company that prides itself on what they create for their clients.
You will be a creative individual, who is social media savvy and someone who is happy to get stuck in, whether it is working with the team to build some mind-blowing creations or helping to pack up orders to send to clients around the world. Key accountabilities of this Junior Designer/Studio Technician role:
" Assisting the creative team in developing design concepts and producing high quality samples and prototypes including giving creative input, designing presentations, product brochures, art working etc
" Utilising all studio equipment to assist the Design Team with tasks such as cutting, making samples and prototypes
" Working with the Design Team and external marketing and PR advisors to manage social media output
" Liaising with the relevant designers to help manage pack-outs and short run dummy production
" Being proficient with Adobe Creative Suite and ensuring you are up to date with new software that may assist you or your colleagues in your role/s
" Researching and keeping abreast of industry specific updates, new procedures, software, trends etc
" Adhering to all company health and safety policies
" Ensuring the studio is kept tidy and all materials and supplies are maintained and ordered as required
This Junior Designer/Studio Technician role requires:
" You will have at least one years' experience in a graphic design environment
" You will be a creative individual with a proactive approach
" You will be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
" You will be social media savvy
" You will be a team player, happy to muck in where needed but be equally happy to work on your own initiative
" You will be enthusiastic with a can-do attitude
