Trainee Bathroom Designer
A superb opportunity for somebody with ambition and a flair for design and detail who is looking to get into the bathroom design industry. We would also consider somebody who has some experience.
We are offering somebody the chance to join an independent family showroom who offer quality and innovative kitchens, bathrooms, and bedrooms as a trainee designer on a full-time basis. The end goal will be for the trainee to grow into becoming the leading bathroom designer, who can also help support the kitchen and bedroom designers as needed.
Based on the Stroud Water Canal near Stroud, you will be part of a small team in a relaxed atmosphere, where hard selling is frowned upon. As a family business, customer service and quality are at the forefront of our ethos.
From the off, you will under-go an induction programme to ensure that you fully understand and are competent with our chosen CAD system and quoting software. You will become adverse in all aspects of our products, which will enable you to be confident in learning how to design a bathroom with confidence from scratch based on the customer’s requirements. This will involve understanding the customer’s needs and offering advice when required to ensure the bathroom proposal is exactly what is required. Ultimately leaving them inspired, excited and wanting to be one of our customers.
You will need to be approachable and pleasant, but who is also not afraid to challenge a customer’s comfort zone. You will need a positive can-do attitude, seizing opportunities when they arise and to be confident to overcome any changes required.
In time you will be the face that greets our customers in the showroom, discuss their requirements and creates the design that provides them with a stunning bathroom that is also practical.
Key Trainee Designer Tasks (but not limited to)
* Customer liaising – Telephone, email and in person
* Organise and carry out customer meetings in the showroom / or within their home
* Bathroom designing (following the induction programme)
* Creating customer quotations and proposal packs, maximising upsells opportunity
* Carry out the customer presentations
* Keep customer information up to date and follow up previous meetings
* Help ensure the showroom is kept in excellent condition
* Take payments from the customers
* Raise invoices and record payments as required
* Help process orders as required
* Liaise with supplier representatives to learn about new products
* Uphold the excellent reputation and customer service of the company
* Reporting to the company directors on a weekly basis
* Liaise with showroom administrator with customer updates
* Be forward thinking in customer service and help promote the company ethos
Essential Skills
* A passion for design
* Competent knowledge of Word, Excel and Microsoft Office
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Strong organisational skills
* Self-motivated
* Attention to detail
* Ability to communicate at all levels
* Confident in presenting and closing sales meetings, thinking on your feet to adapt to any challenges
* Comfortable with new and evolving technologies
* Full UK Driving License
Desirable Skills
* Some form of CAD experience (Articad) – Full training will be provided
* Some experience of quoting software – Full training will be provided
* Some retail experience (ideally in a showroom setting)
There could also be the opportunity to be involved with the company’s Social Media platforms and associated Websites.
Hours of work are full time 5 days a week Monday to Friday, with occasional evening or weekend sales appointments to suit customers from time to time.
Benefits include a good basic salary, DOE. You will need access to your own vehicle and business mileage will be paid as required.
General Working Hours – Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm with 30 minutes lunch
