Women in Data has a growing community of 30,000 members and hosts the largest female data event, taking place at the O2 on March 9th 2023 – a key date in the calendar.

The role works within a close-knit team of women and reports into the Communications Manager. There are exciting opportunities to travel to events across the UK, to the locations of our high-profile partner brands, such as Lloyds Banking Group, Deloitte and Asda, to tell the stories of our partnership and the real women it affects. The communication of which plays a pivotal role in the brand's continued success, with measurable impact and vast opportunity to build a diverse portfolio of work.

You will:

Create strong, visually exciting content that fits within our brand guidelines, which may include but not be limited to graphics, videos and reels, photo editing, interviews and more. Covering both fun, trending content and formal, informative content.
Work with the communications team to coordinate a social media schedule, ensuring content is regular, consistent and planned in advance. Accounting for key dates such as our main event, International Women's Day and other holidays.
Propose new content ideas for LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and TikTok, staying up to date with and not being shy of the latest trends, technologies and channels.
Showcase various high-profile partner brands through the social media channels, using creative ways of promoting events, job roles and other key initiatives.
Write enticing, grammatically correct captions and written content that is appropriate for social media and tailored to each platform.
Ask questions and conduct basic research around data and tech where appropriate to ensure content is accurate, relatable and using the correct terminology.
Encouraging interaction with our community, through social-media campaigns, giveaways and new ideas. As well as ensuring comments, inboxes and other notifications are responded to in a timely and professional manner.
Have clear, regular communication with all members of the team, including regular catch-ups and timely responses to emails. Keep the team informed at various stages throughout the planning and execution to ensure the work meets their needs.
Work to the instruction of the Communications Manager on equality, diversity and inclusion techniques required on social media, including subtitling of videos, alternative text captioning and capitalising hashtags.
Uphold the reputation of Women in Data at various events including conferences, meet-ups and our main event. Be confident in making new connections, including members, speakers and other marketing professionals to reach out for interviews, quotes, content etc.

Adobe Creative Suite preferred, or equivalent

Qualifications:

This role would be suited towards a 2:1 or above graduate in graphic design or alternative creative subject, as well as media and marketing, communications and English graduates. However, a portfolio will be more heavily weighted than qualifications in the job application process, so please do not let this be a barrier to application for self-taught creatives.

Previous Experience:

As an entry-level role, it is not compulsory to have previous industry experience. We would be interested in knowing any other related experiences, such as voluntary work, educational work or personal projects regarding equality, diversity and inclusion, as well as creative skills which will be showcased in your portfolio.
