Senior Designer – Creative, London, Hybrid / remote, £50,000 Circa + benefits

Unknown Recruitment is seeking a Senior Creative Design for our client based in London. The Senior Designer will work with the Creative teams to help generate and elevate concepts visually and progress them through execution. They will bring a range of skills to create solutions for global healthcare companies across a variety of platforms, from large-scale brand identities to patient disease awareness campaigns. Their design understanding will be vital in pitches as well as day-to-day work, helping our clients create strong identities and communication pieces.

Senior Designer – Creative responsibilities:

Design

* Take briefs and work closely with the Creative team to create design solutions across a variety of different media, suggesting alternative creative solutions where appropriate.

* Be able to crack a brief multiple ways and understand the power of visual communication and how to best apply it.

* Demonstrating strong design ability with multiple design ‘voices’ showing range, especially typography.

* Have and promote an understanding of client markets and associated demands/creative trends.

* Champion user-centred design principles and processes, and the ability to apply them across a variety of project types.

* Crafting a cohesive design language across multiple elements and media: icon design, colour pallette design etc.

* Crafting design solutions that span all relevant channels with the variations that make each channel deliver its own unique value.

* Interpreting and building on assigned brand style guidelines.

* Ensure work adheres to specified corporate and technical guidelines.

* Able to see projects through from concept to final release.

* Have an innate world curiosity, actively keeping in tune with popular culture, understand trends, brands and technologies and how they impact our business and culture in general.

* Responsible for maintaining version and quality control of owned assets through lifecycle of project.

* Manage own projects as assigned, working in partnership with Art Directors and under close supervision of the ECDs.

Client Management

* Able to present design solutions to both internal teams and client. Constructively defending work where needed and actively listening to feedback.

Teamwork

* Able to present design solutions to both internal teams and client where necessary. Constructively defending work where needed and actively listening to feedback.

* Able to work with extended team: Tech, UX, Studio, etc. to effectively create and hand off projects.

* Oversee work of junior and freelance team members.

* Set the highest standards in terms of management behaviours; support a culture of diversity and inclusion; respect for others, collaboration, responsibility and accountability.

* Through effective line management, ensure high quality selection, training, development and performance management of all line reports. Oversee and mentor Junior Designers and Designers.

Senior Designer – Creative Requirements:

A passion for design, art direction and making work look beautiful

Relevant experience in a creative environment

Expert knowledge of Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop

Expertise in typography

Ideation and sketching ability; ability to articulate concepts and ideas

Demonstrated conceptual thinking

Demonstrable flair and experience on and offline

Ability to work on own initiative and to deadlines is very important

Creative flair, passion for great design in both print and digital with strengths in developing brand identity and layout design.

Strong attention to detail

Flexible attitude and a willingness to work across accounts

Good communication skills, both written and verbal
