Animal Care Assistant

Job Type : Contract, Full Time

Salary : £10.42 – £11.50/hour

Interaction Recruitment are currently recruiting for part time animal care assistants for our client in the Dudley area. The role can be physically demanding with a lot of bending and lifting so applicants must be physically fit. Applicants will ideally have NVQs or a diploma in animal care.

Main Duties:

· Prepares food and feeding the animals.

· Keeps animals clean and grooming as required or requested.

· Exercises dogs in an enclosure or taking them for walks.

· Cleans out kennels and cares.

· Looks after animals that become ill or in distress.

· Keeps animal facilities and public areas around the facilities clean and swept

· Ensures the Company Vehicle is always kept clean.

· Assists in maintaining records on each animal.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

·. Confident about handling animals and able to calm them

· Able to take initiative or work in a team.

· Observant and alert to changes in animals behaviour

· Able to provide humane care for animals.

· Able to take responsibility.

· Maintaining client confidentiality.

The working week will be 3 days out of 7 and the working hours will be 7am-4pm
