Agricultural Maintenance Engineer

We have a fantastic opportunity available working for an agriculture / horticulture business who are UK Leaders in their products. They are constantly growing and developing their range of products on the farm and now looking to recruit for a maintenance Engineer to support them with this business growth. You will be responsible for maintain, servicing and repairing the agricultural machinery and equipment.

Start: ASAP
Location: Outskirts of Thetford, Norfolk
Hours: 7am – 3:30pm however during harvesting and busy periods you may be required to work longer hours
Salary: up to £40,000 depending on experience

Ideally you will have a passion for horticulture or agriculture and happy to work long hours during busy periods due to the nature of the business.

Duties:

– Service and repairing various agricultural machinery
– Completing diagnostic checks of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
– Maintaining and repairing company fleet and vehicles
– Ensure all relevant paper work is kept updated
– Fault finding and problem solving to keep downtime to a minimum
– Using various testing equipment when fault finding
– Help to improve systems and procedures to improve the departments operations
– Ensure all areas of work are kept clean at all times
– Undertake daily inspection checks before commencing any job
Knowledge and Experience Required:

– Ideally skilled within both Electrical and Mechanical engineering
– Previous experience repairing agricultural machinery and equipment is a MUST
– Can confidently work with hydraulics
– Welding experience with either MMA, MAG or MIG would be a benefit
– Ideally have a forklift licence however this is not essential
– Organised and excellent time management
– Driving licence as will be required to go to different sites
