Accounts Senior
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £38000 – £44000/annum
Excellent opportunity to work as part of the accounting team, assisting with various accounting tasks in an advisory capacity to a range of clients (including financial accounts, management accounts) within a growing multi-disciplinary accountancy and business advisory practice based in Surrey.
Accounts Senior – About the Role
* Preparation of financial accounts for owner managed and limited companies, groups, and UK subsidiaries of international companies.
* Preparing year end working paper files and assisting auditors
* Preparation of monthly or quarterly management accounts including posting journals of accruals, prepayments, depreciation and payroll. Preparation of control reconciliations and analytical review schedules.
* Maintenance of client’s accounting records and reconciliations including bookkeeping, processing of client data and dealing with queries.
* Preparation of VAT returns
* Working at clients’ premises on their computer systems, liaising with the bookkeeper/director to prepare accounts and discuss results.
The successful Accounts Senior will have:
* ACCA/ACA qualified
* Minimum 4 years’ experience in an accountancy practice, ideally gained with a mid – tier or medium sized firm.
* Good level of knowledge of UK accounting standards essential
* Experience of working on consolidated and Charities’ accounts desirable
* Experience of Xero & other software packages desirable
* Good IT knowledge and skills, particularly Excel
* Excellent client engagement and communication skills
