ATA Recruitment are working with a leading global specialist in special purpose machinery for the steel industry. Part of a group of companies which employees over 150 staff over 5 continents our client has been providing technological solutions for their customers for over 60 years.

Their expertise and industry experience has allowed to attract some of the biggest names in the steel industry, such as Tata, Siemens and Elval. Due to increase in orders and part of their growth plans they are looking to add a dynamic Project Engineer to their experienced team in Birmingham, this rare opportunity to join an established and world leading business will allow the right Project Engineer to work closely with industry experts on new and exciting projects worth up to 5 million pounds in value.

The projects are varied in scale and challenges so a strong project and mechanical background will be advantageous.

The Role

As Project Engineer you will be responsible for working on projects from concept to completion, you will in charge of project planning, timescales, and budget.

Some of the Duties that the Project Engineer will have to carry out are:

To manage the project to ensure the timescales and budgets are maintained.
To Produce detailed project plans on MS Project, this will need to include procurement, manufacturing, delivery, installation & commissioning phases of each project.
To manage sub-contactors on site to ensure that the installation and commissioning phase is carried out safely and correctly.
To liaise with the engineering department to ensure designs are accurate as per the client brief.
To manage all suppliers of components and equipment to ensure that the assemblies can be delivered on time.
Enquiries to prospective suppliers, obtain & evaluate quotations, and place purchase orders with selected suppliers.
 The Candidate

 To be successful in your application for the Project Engineer role you will need:

CAD software experience.
Mechanical engineering qualification.
Previous project experience.
Ability to use MS office and Project.
