We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Yard Operative to join us based at our Rampisham site. The role is a full-time permanent position, working 40 hours per week, 5 days from 6 (Monday to Saturday). In return, our Yard Operative will receive a competitive salary plus benefits.

As our Yard Operative, your duties and responsibilities will include:
– Preparation of animals for post-mortem
– Skinning of animal hides
– Producing samples on behalf of APHA
– Unloading vehicles with a Telehandler
– Carrying out general yard duties
– Any other relevant duties as required by Management
– Flexibility with regards to working days/hours upon request in order to fulfil business requirements, which may include Saturdays
– Assistance with commercial activity and positive promotion of the Company and its services, not limited to liaison and engagement with new/existing customers and distribution of promotional material
As a Yard Operative, you should have:
– It would be desirable for the individual to have experience of working in an abattoir, butchers or agricultural environment
– Good knowledge of the Fallen Stock/Agricultural industry
– Excellent communication skills
– Be able to prioritise workload
– Be able to work well individually and as part of a team
– Hold a full Driving Licence
– Experienced in driving a Telehandler would be advantageous, although full training can be provided
