Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre, part of the Huntercombe Group, is a modern, purpose built, independent hospital run in partnership with the NHS (North Bristol NHS Trust). We expanded in 2016 and our new 52 bed service service offers both Level 1 and Level 2 specialist rehabilitation for patients with acquired and traumatic brain injury, for the South West of England.
Ward Clerk
Permanent – Full Time post – 37.5 hours per week Mon-Fri
Salary: £16,848 – £17,355 dependent on experience
An opportunity has arisen for a Ward Clerk to come and join our very friendly multi-disciplinary team. We are looking for someone who is dynamic, well organized, motivated and has the ability to work on their own initiative. The successful candidate will work closely with the Ward Sisters and Senior Nursing staff, undertaking a wide range of clerical support duties to help the smooth running of the unit.
In this role your responsibilities will be:
Work as part of a cohesive, friendly team to provide the nursing team with administrative and clerical support.
Deal with telephone enquiries and escalate to the Registered Nurse as appropriate.
Manage the stock control, ordering and re-stocking of all medical and laundry supplies, with help from the Registered Nurse
Make patient appointments through liaison with external agencies such as other hospital departments, dentists, opticians and the BIRU Medical team.
Compile folders and documentation in preparation for new patient admissions and archive discharged patients records.
Data inputting for Nursing Audits as directed by Senior Nurses.
Perform clerical duties as directed by the Head of Nursing and Senior Nursing Team
You will have:
Excellent organizational and administration skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills both written/verbal
Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritising and manage own workload.
Awareness of the importance of confidentiality.
Good IT skills
Flexible approach
Have a patient service focus.
