About the Job
An excellent overseas job opportunity has arisen in the Middle East with one of our key clients in the Aerospace & Defence sector. We are searching for a highly skilled Mechanical Technician Supervisor, to support the Typhoon Flying Programme for our customer, based in the Middle East. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out mechanical maintenance activities and supervising the consolidation of training of assigned trainees and technicians to ensure required operational readiness is achieved.

Our client has a well-established overseas presence where they have developed a reputation for working closely with local partners to support economic development by transferring knowledge, skills and technology to add value and capability. Our client operates as a prime contractor under a Government to Government arrangement which is in place to provide equipment, support and training to the customer based in the Middle East.
Key Responsibilities

As Mechanical Technician Supervisor for the Typhoon aircraft, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance activities including troubleshooting and rectification. As part of a highly skilled and capable overseas team, you will carry out flight line duties as directed and ensure that your team is operating to required standards and customer requirements as well as providing supervision and mentoring to assigned trainee technicians. As you would expect for a position of this nature, you will need to be able to demonstrate good cultural awareness and diplomacy to ensure that communications are crystal clear to maximise operational readiness and ensure safety critical issues are managed effectively and efficiently.
About the Person
The ideal candidate will most likely have completed a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship in industry/military or similar qualification in aircraft systems. Given the technical nature of this overseas job opportunity, it will be essential that you have previous Typhoon Mechanical Systems experience with a formal ‘Q’ annotation. To succeed in this position, it will also be important that you have comprehensive, and proven post-qualification experience of military fast jet maintenance support, within an operational flying environment.
Whilst it isn’t essential for succeeding in overseas jobs, it would be a distinct advantage if you have previous experience of working in the aerospace & defence sector in a Middle East country. Given the nature of the job, it will also be helpful if you have meticulous attention to detail and can operate to strict deadlines without compromising standards and quality.
