Transport Manager

SED Services Ltd are looking to recruit a very much hands on Transport Manager, to manage a fleet of tippers and artics.
As the Transport Manager your duties would vary, depending on the company needs but will include:
* Managing a fleet of 9 tippers and 6 artic’s scheduling all work with the workshop/contract maintenance provider.
* Managing a fleet of commercial vehicles.
* Making sure vehicle maintenance, MOTs and road fund licences are up to date.
* Liaising with Customers.
* Making sure the operation meets its targets; ensuring cost are kept to a minimum.
* Health & Safety
* Putting together performance reports (monthly review) for the directors
* Managing drivers and staff inductions.
* Managing FOR’s audits and make sure that all operations are carried out in line with UK and EU laws and regulations and any dealing with VOSA.
* Monitor Tracking system.
* Additions and deletions to fleet insurance
* All relevant transport administration
The Transport Manager we require will need to process the skills below.
* Strong organisational skills for planning.
* Good knowledge of the waste industry essential, understanding EWC codes and DOC’s
* Knowledge of tracking systems and fleet maintenance software
* The ability to think logically.
* The ability to work flexibly and to make decisions quickly.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels.
* Excellent computer skills especially with Excel, Outlook and Word.
* Good leadership and motivational skills.
* A good understanding of transport regulations.
* Good geographical knowledge.
Qualification needed as a minimum for this roll
Certificate of Professional Competence National.
A minimum of two years’ experience as a transport manager or fleet manager.
A NEBOSH or IBOSH certificate
