At McCain, its not just about what we make, but its about how we make it that’s important. We are looking for a Technical Operative (Receiving) to ensure potato intake operates effectively and that a continuous supply of potatoes meets planned schedule to quality requirements.

Based at our Whittlesey plant, you will be responsible for the technical aspects of the department, such as blending processes, bin management, and achieving production requirements for the peeler. Additionally, you will also be making technical adjustments as required for efficient running, calibrating, fault finding and rectifying any issues as required.

This means you will be great at leading a team of people to achieve a common goal, whilst ensuring high standards of excellence. You will ensure that standards of cleanliness and organisation are high in the department, and that it is maintained to 5s, Health and Safety and Hygiene Standards.

We are looking for someone who can really make a difference to our plant, who working within a plant environment, that is confident in speaking with other departments, able to cope effectively under pressure and is able to work both independently as well as in a team. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement and HACCP.
