JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Aim of the Role:

Provide leadership and management of the Technical Departament to contribute to the smooth operations to the business objectives and targets and in accordance with quality, BRC and Safety Standards.
Management of Technical Compliance team to ensure product are manufactured to high standards to meet all agreed internal and external specifications.
Maintain a robust auditing programme that continues to meet the requirements set by BRC and our customers.
Work proactively and manage customer accounts.
Be customer facing on all technical issues and support the commercial team.
To conduct and coordinate project work to support and develop the current technical systems.
Highly communicative and keeping exposure to all the functions of the technical departament, interacting with other departments.
Collating and managing supplier due diligence to carry out approval process as quickly and effectively as possible. Predominantly for your customer accounts but also supporting other Customer accounts. Requirements according to UK/EU pesticide legislation. Requirements described in the Food Safety Act 1090. Evidence of Good Agricultural Practices by Suppliers. Ethical trading by suppliers via SEDEX portal.
Working with buyers to complete new supplier approvals.

SAP, and previous ERP experience an advantage, but training will be provided
Key Performance Indicators:

Customer complaints and product rejections
Sustainability and Ethical KPI’s and customer requirements and improve/maintain customer relationships.
Packhouse yield
Internal and external audits
Internal product non-conformances
Staff appraisals, objective setting and continued improvement across the ways of working within the business.
Pro-active management, quality hot spot planning and targeted focus on issues.
Qualifications / Education / Experience:

Previous experience as an Internal Auditor. Preferably Lead auditor.
HACCP Level 4 Trained
BRC – Latest version
Understanding and experience of leading customer audit requirements
Knowledge of SAP and GreenLight QC
Minimum of 10 Years’ experience Quality Assurance / Packing
Capability and experience in Microsoft Office, Excel, Database and Customers Specification portals.
Experience with the management of employees
