Salary : £70 – £100/day

 

We are recruiting on behalf of a Jewish school in Edgware looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a girl in Reception. The role is to start after February half term until the end of the academic year, with the possibility to continue next year if all goes well, please read through the needs of the child below and apply with your up to date CV if you have experience with the needs of the student.
– Reception pupil
– Needs to be a female due to the needs of the child.
– SEN Needs: Global developmental delay having an impact on speech, language and communication, cognition and learning as well as physical and sensory. The child might need support with personal care and hygiene. Behaviour is fine.
– Has EHCP
– TA trained in Makaton / PECS will be preferable
– Experience of working with SEN pupils
The chosen candidate must be able to completely commit to the role as continuity is key.

• Able to provide the children. with a safe, secure and home like environment
• Have working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage
• Able to operate a key person system and liaise with parents, carers, and senior staff
• Plan, organise and implement a programme of activities to meet the needs of this age group and each individual child's needs and interests
• Work as part of a highly motivated and professional team
Do you have:
• Experience working with SEN students
• Experience working with PECS (ideally) or Makaton
• Experience working with children in Early Years
• Good organisational skills
• A caring, kind and approachable manner
• An understanding of how children develop and learn
• Good English, Mathematics and ICT skills
• The ability to work on your own initiative
