I am recruiting on behalf of a school in Finchley Central who are looking for 2 separate teaching assistants to join their team after February half term. The school is rated 'Outstanding' is a 6 minute walk from a Northern line train station and has free parking outstide the school. The school has amazing grounds and a fantastic SEN provision that can offer constant CPD

Role 1:
Y3 (boy)
Autism Spectrum Disorder
Minimally verbal
Mainly educated in a low sensory space in school with integration into his class at various points throughout the day.
He is rejoining our school after a period of absence so has been at home since July last year and an integration plan will be put in place upon his return.
The LSA will need experience in working 1:1 with a pupil both within the classroom for short periods of time and in a low sensory space as well. They will also need experience of using visuals as a form of communication and if they have experience of de-escalation that would be a bonus. Also experience of working in a primary school is essential.
Role 2:
Y2
ADHD, ODD (oppositional defiant disorder), traits of ASD
High ability pupil able to access the academic side of the curriculum, though due to the ODD he might choose not to so the person working with him needs to be able to think outside the box and on their toes as to how to adapt the task to make it more appealing to him.
The LSA will need experience of helping to support social skills and interaction, emotional regulation and remaining calm when behaviours of the pupil might heighten due to high levels of anxiety. An added bonus would be an interest in sport as the pupil likes regular movement breaks in a sporty way.
The chosen candidate must be able to completely commit to the role as continuity is key.
Qualifications for this role are not essential but a good understanding special needs is key.

Able to commit for the duration of the placement
A minimum of 1 month working in a UK classroom environment
Creative and dynamic in their approach to teaching and learning

Happy to complete training to further develop their knowledge and understanding in education.
DBS checked or happy to complete one
