The Role

This role of Supplier Relationship Manager is a key part of our Landscape and Waste services brands and takes ownership of all supplier management within our business.

The role focuses on ensuring we have the appropriate supply chain partners in place to support the business as it grows, ensuring we have the correct suppliers to support winning tenders/bid and Contracts or ensuring we have the best price points for the key items and services our business needs to operate.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for long term progression as this role offers the successful candidate scope to develop with this role and function further to improve both the customer experience as we grow within our marketplace but improve our cost income ratio with tailored product and service agreements to meet the business need.

To be successful in this role you will be a confident communicator with excellent relationship building skills, capable of establishing strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, while supporting new contract mobilisations and projects across the business.

A hybrid role with a mix of homeworking, office working and visiting operational sites in Kent where required.

Community Services is the operational arm of Commercial Services Group – one of the UK’s largest, local authority-owned, trading organisations within the UK.

Key Duties

Review all existing suppliers and supply categories periodically to ensure that they support the business strategy for commercial growth, service excellence and compliance
Develop new supply chains in coordination with the Operations team, Sales team to ensure that resource is set up (inline with CSG Procurement Policy) to support Winning Bids/ Tenders and New business
Development of Supplier review strategy to ensure that all Approved Suppliers documents always remain up to date
Regular GAP/opportunities analysis of marketplace, managing and delivering Improvement initiatives saving Community Services time and money in forthcoming growth
Establish an annual review process for all existing Suppliers, so that they receive an annual review (desktop / Teams or Face to Face)
Ensure that CRM supplier systems are updated with activities and Price Lists for all to access,
Create and maintain usage / spend data
Provide Reports and update to the senior Leaders on activity, monthly and on ad hoc basics
Collaboration with New and existing suppliers to ensure we are provided bespoke products at tailored prices for our business
Provide regular updates for all staff purchasing on new product lines / exiting suppliers /price increases and reductions
Manage the New supplier set up process
Responsible for supplier communication activities within the division, via arranging annual supplier events, regular updates or web site communications
Providing Project Management support to the division when required in the implication of key initiatives
Ensure that the Division adheres to internal Procurement policy and governance
Coordinate with Procurement formal Supplier Tenders to award status
Manage DocuSign for the Division
Ensure that all documents are fully backed up in line with BCP standard processes
Manage internal suppliers such as Cantium / Claranet / KCS Framework and others
