Role: Supplier Quality Engineer
Location: Farnborough
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000
Due to continued success and growth a leading supplier of advanced electromechanical products to the Aerospace industry based in Farnborough is looking for the next addition to their quality team.
The responsibilities of the Supplier Quality Engineer are as follows:
* Supplier approval and Maintenance
* Generate quality and performance metrics and report regularly
* Manage supplier/sub-tier returns process.
* Manage supplier/sub-tier corrective action requests ensuring adequate investigation, corrective, preventive and close out actions are undertaken and that issues are resolved in a timely manner.
* Manage customer quality issues with sub-tier products and ensure effective problem resolution
* Deploy PPAP to supplier/sub-tier
* Issue corrective actions of deficient processes and follows up to verify corrective/preventive action effectiveness via SCAR.
* Assist Engineering for ECN (Engineering Change Notes)
* Assist in preparation of DFMEAs and PFMEAs
* Assist in the generation of part Appearance Approval report.
* Review and approve Supplier/Sub-tier First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR).
The successful Supplier Quality Engineer will have the following skills/experience:
* Conversant with ISO9001 / AS9100 / TS16949
* Strong problem solving skills – 8D, 5Y, etc.
* Supplier quality experience
* Aerospace / Defence experience is beneficial
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma methodologies
* Experience of working with complex electro-mechanical products is a distinct advantage
