Structural Engineer
Due to our current and continued high workloads we are currently looking for experienced structural engineers.
To integrate within our existing team of structural engineers you must;
* Have 5+ years’ experience in the design and detailing of steel work, timber, masonry and R.C. members for building structures.
* Have either HNC, HND, BEng, MEng or Hons professional qualifications in structural or civil engineering.
* Have experience of Tedds, Tekla, CADS A3D Max design software or similar.
* Have experience of managing health and safety during the design and construction process.
* Have proficient AutoCAD skills, Revit would be advantages.
* Have excellent written and telephone skills.
As a Structural Engineer your duties would include:
* Meeting with Clients, Architects, Building Contractors and other professionals from initial appointment through to completion.
* You must be capable of overcoming problems in real time where delay to the project could have serious consequences.
Accommodation is available as well as a competitive and negotiable package. We are based in Jersey, the largest and most southern of the Channel Islands. Jersey benefits from being VAT free and our equivalent to the UK’s National Insurance is 6%. Currently the maximum TAX rate on earned income is 20%.

Managing Director Barry Helm BEng (Hons) CEng FIStructE has first-hand experience of the journey to Chartered Member and is currently supporting five members of staff to Charted Member and Associate Member.
Since 2008 our structural designs have been subjected to the Structural Engineer Registration Ltd (SER) Scheme, this mirrors a similar scheme that has operated in Scotland since 2005. The Planning and Environment Department require projects to be checked for compliance with Planning and Building (Jersey) Law 2002 (as amended) and Building Bye-Laws (Jersey) 2007. The SER certification has must be undertaken by an approved body. Beaumont Structural Consultants Ltd offer this service enabling approvals and certification to be more speedily obtained, avoiding delays on site. Our professional indemnity insurance extends to the elements of the building under our design and will not cover specialist sub-contractor’s / third party design that may be included within the certification process.
The Island introduced Management in Construction (Jersey) Regulations 2016, this mirrors The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations (CDM 2015) that applies in the UK
